The Key Centre for Women's Health in Society, since its foundation in 1988, has been at the forefront of thinking, researching, teaching and disseminating information about women's health. The vision for the Key Centre is that it will be the leading centre for research, education, knowledge transfer and advocacy in women's health, gender and society in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
The Key Centre's work recognises that women's health and wellbeing is integral to the health and wellbeing of their families and the whole community.
Gender and Health
The World Health Organization Gender policy (2002) explicitly acknowledges that sex - the biological facts of being female and male - and gender - the cultural norms that determine femininity and masculinity - have an important impact on health and wellbeing.
